AI Statement

At La Gro, we embrace innovation and leverage technological developments, including artificial intelligence (“AI”), to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of our legal services.

AI is used to support our legal practice, but never to replace the professional legal judgement of our lawyers. All AI-assisted output remains subject to human oversight and is reviewed and verified by a qualified lawyer, who retains full responsibility for the substance and quality of the legal services provided.

How We Use AI

We may use AI to support our internal workflows and legal processes, including:

  • Case analysis and document review: AI enables us to structure and analyse large volumes of information, identify relevant passages and detect inconsistencies and patterns.
  • Drafting, editing and translation: AI assists in drafting and reviewing documents, drawing on our legal expertise and know-how, and facilitates the translation of texts.
  • Summarisation: AI assists in summarising information and presenting complex materials in a clear and structured manner.
  • Process optimisation: AI enables the automation of routine tasks, allowing our lawyers to devote more time to complex, strategic and high-value legal work and to make optimal use of their legal expertise.
  • Legal research: AI supports legal research by assisting in the identification of relevant legal sources and authorities.

Our Approach to AI

Our internal AI policy is designed to ensure the ethical, responsible and secure use of AI in the provision of our legal services. This policy is based on the following key principles:

  • Human oversight and quality assurance: AI serves as a supporting tool and never replaces the independent professional judgement of our lawyers. Our lawyers retain responsibility for both the legal work undertaken and the final work product. All AI-generated output is subject to review and verification by our lawyers. The use of AI must never compromise the quality of our legal services. Professional expertise and integrity remain fundamental to our practice. We therefore invest in appropriate training to ensure that our lawyers understand how to use AI responsibly and effectively.
  • Confidentiality and data protection: Information and data are not entered into publicly accessible or unsecured AI systems. Data will not be used to train AI models. We deliberately opt for hosting solutions located within the European Economic Area (EEA). Further information on how we process and protect personal data is available in our Privacy Statement.
  • Careful selection of technology partners: La Gro works exclusively with carefully selected technology providers. These partnerships are intended to facilitate the use of innovative, secure and legally compliant tools that support the provision of our legal services. Before engaging a provider, we enter into a data processing agreement to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place and that applicable laws and regulations are complied with.
  • Transparency: We are committed to transparency regarding our use of AI. Further information about our use of AI is available upon request.
