Iris joined the Intellectual Property & Technology team and Healthcare & Life Sciences sector group of La Gro in 2023 as an attorney at law. Iris specialises in patent law and has experience in the Pharma & Life Sciences industry.
Her work includes a range of complex issues related to the enforcement of second medical use patents, the application of the concept of plausibility and advising on SPC related issues. Iris frequently advises on the drafting and negotiating of e.g. clinical trial or license agreements. In addition, she has experience in Unified Patent Court (UPC) related matters and proceedings.
Prior to joining La Gro, Iris worked for two years as an in-house counsel at Radboudumc, where she contributed to the project ‘conect4children’ regarding paediatric clinical trials.
Outside her legal career, Iris has always been involved in her community. She has held various board positions and was active as a member of the Advisory Board of ‘Stichting Maashorst in Uitvoering’. Iris was politically active in the municipality of Oss (was on the electoral list in 2018). She took part in various social activities such as elderly care (Red Cross) and language courses for refugees from Syria.
